- A personal statement is not required as standard however it could strengthen your application in the following circumstances; explaining a gap in you education (if not clear from your CV), if your education/degree subject is not directly related to the programme in which you are applying (for instance you may wish to highlight the relevance of certain modules you have taken in your prior studies).
